We begin that journey of waking the magician. You see when you awaken the magician, the true, the real, the high magician so much can change. 1. The high magician first of all can lead you through the residue of the past. So long as we have talked about the past coming to an end, the history is ending, not as some statement of HYPERBERBALY but as a fact that they are gripping hold of the past, is relinquishing, is letting go and more and more the influence, not the control, the influence of the future is what is creating your reality but even so there is a habit, even so, there is residue, even so there are those chunks, tangling pieces of the past that still tenaciously hang on that you still wrap around your ankles and say look I can't go any further. It is the high magician that can lead you through the residue so you don't have to go back to the drawing board, you don't have to go back to square one and start all over again, hmm let me see let me talk to a child, let me see what an adolescent wants, etc., a high magician can lead you through this residue and also can guide you beyond the paradox and confusion that is so much a part of present and future that is yet unfolding. Secondly the high Magician, Real And True Magician can open you to your own authenticity, your own honesty, your own integrity, your own conscience, your own truth and who you really are. What Is Defective Shame? Defective Shame and ending shame. Such strong words and they have such harsh corners, it almost makes someone cringe just at the word and sound of shame. It's a very important thing to look at and a frightening concept as well People who feel a tremendous amount of shame go through their lives pretending that they don't, shun the very word and shun the very concept. Therefore reading my write-ups on how to end shame, says something about you, shame for the person that doesn't want to be said. Therefore, ironically and sadly are the ones who need to hear it the most of what we will talk about, those who are most weary and frightened and to listen. Some suggest perhaps the title ending Shame is a little too harsh that we should come up with a softer romantic title, something that would not be so intimidating. Let's just call a spade a spade and not call it an airy-fairy around-the-corner name. Let's talk about ending shame and let's call it daily write-ups ending shame. The word itself is very difficult to define and even more difficult to understand the concept of shame. But the most difficult of all is to comprehend and deal with the feeling of shame. Even though shame is a current world problem unlike some you might forcibly have, it's a current life problem. Each of you developed shame at a time before you had language. Making it difficult to define. Shame is rooted and established in the preverbal infancy and Each of you has shame. Yes, every one of you has shame to various degrees. Some in that sense have been healthy shame but far too many of you Indeed it has been an unhealthy prisoning shame. But everybody has shame, everyone who are of the human condition or the human persuasions has shame. Shame is a real emotion and potentially has positive as well as the more overt obvious negative impact. That is the first point that is so vitally important to realize. That shame is a real emotion. Guilt is a fabrication and it has negative implications but shame is a real emotion and therefore as a real emotion has both positive and negative sides. A light face and a dark face are seen and unseen. That is part of it When shame is positive and expressed it's a tremendously powerful and a vitally important part of your human development. When it's negative it can be tremendously most totally destructive. To that very human development. Shame is an emotion that can facilitate finding self or instigate the denial of self. Shame is also a state of being it is more than an emotion where it begins as a feeling and becomes a state of being. Where you might feel shame initially, where it is internalized to a certain point you no longer feel shame you are shame.
There Is A Negative Shield That Stands Between You And All That You Can Be And Could Have. There Is A Shield That Stands Between You And God Goddess Of All That Is, Between You And Your Higher Self, Between You And Other Realities And Between You And The Dreams The Future Can Hold. The shame-based person Hears they can have it all and says oh would be nice. Maybe for other people but not for me. That shield is made of many components and layers and you built that shield. If we systematically draw it out it looks something like this, a circle that represents all that is not good enough. 1. The 1st level or layer of your shame Shield that is seen and that shows itself is the reluctance or the refusal to receive love and is the most obvious piece of the shield. That's the part that most can identify with, can admit and see in another. 2. Then the second layer of your shame shield is a layer called self-punishment where you find yourself beating yourself up. You see others doing things self-destructively, punishing themselves with words, of division, punishing themselves with doubts, worries, fears, anxiety, perfections that they always fail at, Punishing themselves with failure, you did that, you couldn't see that, you know better than that, come on don't mess up, etc. Then it becomes emotional rather than physical. People punish themselves on the brink of success then they leap into addictions again or break a leg. On the brink of success, they have that automobile accident or they discover that disease or they have somehow debilitated themselves or punished themselves by losing all their friends or anything important. You see it and call it out, look at any self-punishment, you see so debilitating. 3. The third layer to your shame shield and less obvious but very present is the self-sabotage layer that goes on, the self-sabotage that happens when you find yourself the night before, the most important meeting unable to sleep do you wake up totally exhausted or you have that big fight, the person who means so much to you the night before, the most critical meeting of your life where everything in your future is hinged upon and this is the night we choose to fight about something consequential. Or this is time just on the brink of something where your lie has been exposed, or your manipulation has come to the surface, or you do something to yourself to sabotage yourself or break apart. You have been building It that way to ruin it yourself where you put your foot in your mouth and say the wrong thing where you stand up to make your presentation and burp or Fart. Or that dress or nice suit you were going to wear and you spill ink or spaghetti on it before your speech. You Sabotage yourself. 4. The fourth layer to your shame shield is the addictions, obsessions, Poisons, and payoffs we keep talking about and when you stop taking them we will stop discussing them but in that sense there they are. The alcohol addiction, the addiction to various drugs, the obsessions that you have, the addictions to whatever in that sensing or abstract the tangibilities in life, some show on the surface others of them are hidden addictions but just as addictive and just as destructive so frequently and those of you that have been to AA meetings you see it very clearly these people who have had drinking problems who are addicted to alcohol and have been sober for years and there they sit smoking packs of cigarettes, drinking twenty cups of coffee, eating 10 sugary meals a day but I am no longer addicted to alcohol. I can't bear my addiction I haven't had a drink in ten years. They just replaced it with another addiction. Even becoming addicted to the meetings themselves those that show up at 7 of them a week and attend every meeting of every week of their life. I am not addicted anymore. They show and they don't show. 5. The fifth layer to your shame shield that disrupts you is the negativity that guilt has. The guilt that motivates you and the guilt that numbs and paralyzes you. The motivator of guilt is I do feel guilty. Guilt is used as a motivator when these qualities lack such as confidence, strength, character, remorse, sorrow, willingness, positive thinking and feeling, forgiveness of self and others, love of self and others, integrity, honesty, etc. When you lack that sense of okayness or connectedness, when you lack that deep sense of depth when you lack these qualities of feeling and expressing, guilt is the one that motivates you. Why Do We Become The Very Shame We Carry? Why Do We Pass On The Very Shame We Carry To Others? Why Does Adult Shame Go Askew? One Of The Most Devastating Impacts Of Shame That We Mention Each And Every Time Is That You Will Pass It On. You will pass on the shame you carry if you don't heal your adult shame and if you don't stop it here you will pass it on. Now a child will pass on shame to other children, those of you who have ever watched your children play with other kids, or listen to your children come home tell you some of the things kids said to them, or what they said to other kids, yes you see they can pass on shame. Children can be brutally cruel to each other when they want to be but they bounce, children are not fragile they are made of rubber if they are made of anything and they bounce. That's why we say as parents if you have made a mistake you haven't ruined their life. They won't break they may fall down and they will bounce back up again as kids. They got some latitude there. Adolescents can be absolutely cruel to each other, passing on shame but again it tends to bounce. But when you're grown up you have the power to really damage others far more than any child or adolescent ever has. Therefore the phenomenon of shame in infancy, childhood and in adolescents that is passing it on doesn't really come to maturity until your adult years. You see some of you the offended in your life was in adolescence, some of you as children an older brother or sister or the older brother and sister friend was the source of your shame, the physical abuse or mental abuse or even the Sexual abuse have come from an older peer in that sensing, an adolescent or a grown up. It came mostly however from adult authorities around you was it not, the mother, the father, a grandparent, an uncle, auntie, teacher, coach, whoever in that sense and in that sense that shame was far more devastating to you. Surely those that were beaten up by their best friends, older brother or sister, that physical abuse was really damaging and has produced shame. For those of you who were sexually abused by that older sibling, we don't mean to diminish the scar or impact that it had but for those of you who were abused in whatever way by a grown-up that scar cut even deeper. Therefore, now as you reverse it, put the shoe on the other foot as it were. Maybe you passed on shame as a child or adolescent to others but as a grown-up, the scars that you can produce by doing that are even more deep and even more profound. Therefore, it's important to realize that the effects of shame passing it on is more potent and more powerful in adult shame than it is at any other level. It's important for you to look and see what impact have I had with my current shame, on my power through the gifts, on my own chemistry, and on my own physical health, on my sense of separation, my sense of broken in fixability, on the abandoning of the world, or of my myself on the shame I have already passed to others, ether peers or children. What Is Shame Suppose To Do Or Offer? Adult Shame as complicated as it is. As a present shame that is influencing the future as opposed to a past shame that is influencing the present. Complicated as it is by a current perspective as opposed to a past retrospective, complicated as it is by a shame that is happening now in the midst of the set as opposed to outside of the set. Adult shame is further complicated by the fact that in the midst of it, you are becoming or have become an offender. As adults in the midst of your adult shame you are passing that shame on in your reality. You are either passing it on by the teaching or by abandoning or by abusing or by wronging. If not your children then your peers, perhaps those peers you care about and love the most. You are passing it on whether you want to admit it or not. You are. If you are not already passing it on, you 100% will pass it on to others eventually. That is a phenomenon of shame. Once you become an offender, dealing with adult shame becomes even more complicated. More complicated by that factor than by the present as opposed by the past. The perspective opposed to the retrospective being the set rather than outside the set. It is more complicated once you become the offender to deal with this most complicated shame with its deepening pain. That is a phenomenon of this particular melody that is unlike so many other modalities you may experience which you may suffer from. That if you do not heal this shame you will infect others with it. If you do not end this shame you will pass it on to others. As much as it was passed on to you by those previously who did not heal or did not end it for themselves. To recognize that the potential or the fact that adult shame is far more potent now than at any time in my past and to own that truth for yourself. Shame Is Part Of The Growing Process and it is important To Come To Peace With The Presence and the necessity of adult shame, come to peace with the presence in your adult years and to own the degree of impact adult shame now can have like ever before. To adequately end your shame, certain things must be accomplished. That's what I am here to talk to you about. Firstly, It Is Important to come to peace with the fact that your reality had to Include shame as part of the growing process. Secondly, you come to peace with the presence, not the content of, but the presence of adult shame in you. Thirdly you fully understand the devastating impact of what went wrong with shame in these adult years with its deep pain. Fourthly and Finally you learn the specific techniques geared precisely with this kind of shame to end the shame completely and conclusively. And it is to that end that we explore together the final wave of adult shame with its deep pain. The First thing we say and which is important is the fact that your reality had to Include shame as part of the growing process. This is Because for many the question arises if it hasn't already it will. If I create my own reality why on earth would I have been so stupid, so naive, so shallow, so wrong and so horrible to have done something like shame? Why would I have done that and why would humanity be so short-sighted as to create such idiocy of shame? With that of course comes the Shame of Shame itself and it is important to understand that the function of shame is intended to be a positive thing, to have positive ramifications, as hurtful, dreadful, painful, nightmarish and/or even horrific it has been. It was intended initially at first as part of the human function to produce very admirable effects and results in your reality. Although, that shame became toxic and therefore poisonous and devastating indeed, even painful. We would suggest its original force and its original purpose were intended to be productive. You see since shame is a real emotion however constricting and negative it may seem it has its positive potential and it is important to come to peace with the fact that reality had to include shame as part of the growing process. Unfortunately, it became toxic and destructive. It was intended to be a positive influence. Shame is supposed to produce the phenomenon of remorse. It is supposed to establish the initial foundation of remorse in infancy. It is supposed to practice its implementation during childhood and adolescence and it is supposed to make its application, the remorse application of remorse in the adult years. You see is the feeling of genuine sorrow. When you have made a mistake when you have done something wrong when you have hurt someone or something including yourself. A genuine feeling of the sorrow of being sorry. Now you can say the words and everybody learns them far too early in life. I am sorry I feel such sorrow, I feel remorse, the words are part of your vocabulary but most people don't feel remorse even when they use the word. So often because you do not have the foundation or the implementations and application as part of your own experience of humanness. I'm really feeling sorry, I feel sorry for myself or I feel martyred or I feel guilty or I feel defensive or I feel righteous or I feel ugly, offal and I feel self-punishing but I don't really mean I feel sorrow. Often when you do something for which you should or would otherwise feel sorry or sorrowful, you instead feel very sorry for yourself, very martyred, very guilty, very defensive, very self-punishing, very sabotaging and/or self-destructive and that dear one is not sorrow or remorse. Also, it's important to deal with healing Shame not when you were an infant or A child, not as an adolescent but now as an adult to come to peace with this. The adolescent may not come to peace with Adult shame and therefore it may not be valuable at all to sit down with your Adolescent and talk about how shame is supposed to be a positive thing in their life. They are going to think you don't understand, that you are the enemy, that you are just like everybody else and so don't try to convince them of the value or the place that shame did or the role shame was supposed to play. The infant in you can't begin to understand nor can the child so don't try to make them understand adult shame but you are neither of these. You are not the Infant or the child or the adolescent you are now the grown-up and therefore it is important to replace the leverage in a sense, that retrospect might have given you to replace that leverage with the peace of knowing that shame as devastating as it is has been for you was intended to be a positive force and positive Influence that could have if dealt with in the appropriate usages worked to your advantage.
