🌿 Learning the Language of Energy
New Daily Inspirational Write Up For Weds, Aug 12
One of the most important aspects of channeling is learning to recognize what you cannot necessarily see with your physical eyes. We are so accustomed to saying, “I need to see it before I believe it,” but channeling begins to open another language within you. You begin sensing subtle changes in energy, feeling, intuition, color, presence, vibration, imagination, and inner knowing. Instead of constantly looking for something spectacular to appear in front of you, you become sensitive enough to notice what was subtle all along.
Everything around you gives you an opportunity to practice this awareness. Sit beside a tree and become completely present with it. Hold a crystal and notice what you experience. Smell a flower and allow yourself to become absorbed in its beauty. Then move to another tree, another crystal, another flower. Does anything change within you? You are not trying to force an answer. You are learning to become still enough to notice the difference. This is calibration.
We already do this with people we love. Sometimes someone walks into the house and before you even see them, something within you already recognizes them. “That’s Mom.” “That’s my partner.” “I know who’s here.” Through familiarity, you have learned thousands of subtle patterns associated with that person. Channeling develops through familiarity as well. Eventually, you begin recognizing your guide not because you are desperately searching for proof, but because you have become familiar with what their presence feels like to you.
This is why imagination should not immediately be thrown out of the room. One of the quickest ways to shut down an emerging channel is to experience something subtle and immediately say, “I’m just imagining it.” Maybe you are imagining it. Beautiful. Stay curious. Imagination can be part of how we explore inner experience. Instead of demanding certainty immediately, observe what happens repeatedly. What stays consistent? What changes? What feeling always seems to accompany a particular connection? Discernment grows through experience.
I like to think of connecting with a guide as finding a meeting place. You may not be able to reach completely into what you perceive as their state, and within my spiritual framework I do not expect a higher-level guide to come completely down into the heaviness of ordinary consciousness either. So we meet somewhere in between. I raise myself through relaxation, focus, love, joy, intention, and awareness, and I experience the guide meeting me within that space.
It reminds me of meeting somebody you think you have absolutely nothing in common with. The conversation is awkward until suddenly somebody mentions dogs. “You have dogs? I have dogs.” Now you can talk for two hours. You found the meeting place. Something complementary appeared between you, and communication became easier. This is how I experience energetic calibration with my guides. I learn their signature, they learn mine, and through repeated connection the meeting place becomes increasingly familiar.
At first, you may use crystals, flowers, music, meditation, nature, breath, or other things that help you enter this state. Use them. Play with them. Discover what helps you. But don’t become dependent upon them. You don’t want to arrive somewhere someday and panic because you forgot your crystal. “I can’t channel! My amethyst is at home!” Come on. Find a tree. Breathe. Sit quietly. Return to yourself. The crystal was never the channel. It was helping you learn how to recognize the state.
Eventually, you become so familiar with the calibration that you recognize it without all the preparation. You know the feeling. You know the doorway. You know when your awareness begins changing. Most importantly, you begin recognizing the energetic signature you associate with your guide.
First you learn to relax. Then you learn to hold the channeling mind. Then you learn to sense.
And eventually, you learn to recognize who you are sensing.
You are developing the language before having the conversation.
The Inner Doorway
Perhaps channeling is not something you have to find.
Perhaps it is something you have to open.
There is a doorway within you that becomes clearer when you learn how to listen, trust what you receive, and allow your connection to develop naturally.
You do not have to know everything before you begin. You simply have to be willing to begin.
If you feel that doorway opening within you, I’d be honored to help you explore it.
